Action is headed your way…come join us!
1: Wednesday, July 29th build the Pirates Trail on the South Shore of Big Bear Lake
2: Saturday, August 1st be a Bike Valet at the Tour de Big Bear.
This used to be a mainstream hiking and biking trail, but back in 2011 it was made into a big dirt road to aid with fuels reduction activities. USFS officials promised that it would come back as a trail, and now it’s finally happening. See the Grizzly article here.
Wednesday, July 29th meet at the junction of forest service roads 2N10 and 2N06 (go past Bear Mountain up Clubview Drive, drive up 2N10 for 1.25 miles, and look for the action). Show up and help build this trail!
We’ll start work at 9am and continue until noonish. Bring work clothes, gloves and water and we’ll provide instruction and snacks. More information and RSVP here: http://trailsfoundation.org/trail-work/
Volunteer Bike Valets Needed Saturday August 1st for Tour de Big Bear!
This annual fundraiser helps the Trails Foundation raise money by giving people a secure place to park their bike at the Tour de Big Bear. But we can’t raise money without YOUR help…
Hang out, meet people, be social and be part of the 2,000 rider strong road bike ride Tour de Big Bear! You’ll be right in the heart of the action, next to the start and finish line (and the beer garden) in the Big Bear Lake Village.
We have 3 shifts during the day, 7am – 10am, 10am – 1pm, and 1pm – 4pm. Choose a shift, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and help us raise money for your trails.
